The Free Gift
A few months ago, my wife and I had attended a couple of estate sales in our neighborhood. As I walked through each room of the deceased owner’s home, every single item had a price tag attached to it. I then started to observe person after person entering the house and browsing through all of the items looking for a bargain as they were combing through each room in the house. I began to think of how this was once someone’s house that they worked hard for and each room was filled with their possessions that once meant a lot to them, or maybe were cherished gifts from family members or friends. But now, strangers from all over were invading that which was once their home and handling and purchasing their things. Then I thought to myself that all the stuff filling their home was just stuff and at the end of the day adds no value or meaning to our lives and eventually it will all be taken by someone else or just go to the dump.
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Mark 8:36-37 NLT
Nothing is more valuable than a relationship with Jesus the King of kings and Lord of lords! He offered His life as the greatest gift of all. Praise HIM!
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 NLT
