Fervent Prayer
Fervent: is an adjective describing something characterized by intense, passionate emotion, strong beliefs, or deep enthusiasm. It implies a glowing sincerity or unwavering zeal, often associated with causes, beliefs, or desires.
Lately the Lord has been speaking to me about prayer with intent. I don’t want to be like the Pharisees praying long winded prayers with no meaning or purpose. In my devotion time I read in Isaiah 38, where King Hezekiah was ill and Isaiah came to him and told him that the Lord said to get his affairs in order because he was going to die.
“When Hezekiah heard this, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD, “Remember, O LORD, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single-mindedly, always doing what pleases you.” Then he broke down and wept bitterly. Then this message came to Isaiah from the LORD: “Go back to Hezekiah and tell him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will add fifteen years to your life, and I will rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria. Yes, I will defend this city.” Isaiah 38:2-6
When Hezekiah received the news of his coming death, he prayed fervently and God responded to his prayer by adding 15 years to his life. May we seek the Lord with more intensity, passion and deep enthusiasm then watch HIM do incredible works in our lives.
God bless you!
