The Spirit-filled Life

Romans 12: 9-13

God's Word gives us some insight on how we are to live the Christian life - that we call the Spirit-filled life. Love is at the top of the list. We are to love without hypocrisy. This type of love focuses on the needs and welfare of others. It is pure and sincere. It is not about what we get out of the relationship, and it is not self-centered. Time usually will show true motives, and if there is hypocrisy it will reveal itself. May God help us to abhor what is evil and cling to what is good. May God help us to not be hypocritical in our love toward one another. Many people that we encounter have been hurt and never return to church due to believers being hypocrites.  In verses 10-13 it  says we are to be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another, not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in  hope, patient in tribulation,  continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. May God fill us with His Spirit to love others like He has loved us.

Selah,

Pastor David
