Delivered from sin and from spiritual death: rescued from eternal punishment

“Their throat is an open tomb, with their tongues they have Practiced deceit” “The poison of asps is under their lips.” Romans 3:13

If these words of scripture where a painting what would it look like? Perhaps we might think of a politician or some other person. But these words describe the entire human race. Allow me to rephrase this a little.  My throat is an open sepulcher; with my tongue I have used deceit; the poison of asps is under my lips. Not a pretty picture for sure, but it wasn’t supposed to be.

When it comes to truth how is a person going to respond. The truth remains the truth no matter how we respond to it. People don’t like to hear the truth today, but that does not change it.  Romans 3:13 does not leave any wiggle room. However, that’s the bad news, yet God who cannot lie has some Good News. Our relationship to God can be restored. Again, the plain truth is Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again so that whosoever believes on Jesus will be saved. For God did not send His son to condemn the world but that people might be saved
