03-31-20 Mens Devotional

Men our country is in turmoil but God has not changed, nor has He relocated, nor has He been quarantined. He is knocking on the door of your hearts and desires to do a work in each one of our lives. With all the radical change that’s transpiring right now throughout the world do you hear HIM knocking? He is trying to get our attention. Can you see it? I challenge you to seek the Lord with your whole heart like never before. I hope these devotions stir your heart, even if its just a little bit. Please look for it tomorrow in your inbox file. I look forward to hearing from you with any comments you might have, input, or scripture that comes to heart.
Also, if you or someone you know is in need, or needs prayer, or needs a visit or a phone call, please let one of the Pastors know, we want to be there for you when and where we are needed.
A quick side note- Easter Service this year will be held out at the new church property, people will come in their cars and we will hold a “Drive In Service”. We will need help setting up for the service and will need men to help park cars. If you are available to help please email me separate from this group email. More details to follow.
Thanks and have a blessed week.

Many of us have been duped into thinking the Devil is winning. We have been duped into thinking the Devil is running the show, calling the shots, keeping us in sin, hindering our lives on a daily basis, and we are his puppets on his string.

Many Christians fear the devil, fear our current circumstances, and fear the things in our lives that we seemingly have no control over. But even though the Devil is very powerful, he is not something that we should be afraid of or fearful of.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

The battles we face in this life, battles that have gone on, are going on, or will go on, whatever they me be, they are not fundamentally physical in nature. Whatever is going on in your life is rooted first in the spiritual realm, the heavenly places.

Spiritual Warfare can simply be defined as the conflict in the invisible realm that affects what you are going thru in the physical realm. It is the battle in the unseen spiritual world that are responsible for the battles in the seen “flesh and blood” world. And if you don’t know how to navigate the spiritual world, you can’t fix what is wrong in this world, the physical realm.

Ephesians 6:10-13 says- Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

The demonic world wants you to live and operate in the physical world, the world of your five senses (what you can touch with your hands, hear with your ears, see with your eyes, smell, and taste). The bible calls that the natural man. He wants you to fix yourself using your five senses, or talk to other people with five senses like you who can help fix you. Only to discover you never get to the origin or to the root of the problem. For the root of our problems is found in the spiritual world- we wrestle against powers and darkness and spiritual hosts of wickedness found in the heavenly places, that want to rob us of all that God has stored up for us in the spiritual realm.

God wants us to stand firm against the schemes of the Devil. The Devils primary scheme is to trick you, to deceive you, to trap you, to get you to remove yourself from under the protection of God’s covering, and he will often come at you looking like something else. Just like he presented himself to Eve in the Garden of Eden as a serpent, he will present himself to you in ways that won’t be obvious to you. The goal being again, to get you to remove yourself from under the protection of God’s covering. Once he gets you to voluntarily do that he’s got you. Once you remove yourself from God’s covering the Devil can get you to see things from his perspective. You have all heard the line blinded by sin, or sin makes you stupid? People’s whole personality and perspective changes once they are blinded by sin, they become a completely different person and don’t even know it, even though it is obvious to everyone around them.

The only power that Satan and his demons have in our lives is the power we give them. So if we come out from under God’s protection thru sin and circumstance, thru yielding to the Devil, basically saying to him- go ahead and rule my mind, go ahead and rule my world, it’s ok for you to rule my emotions, to rule my will, he will ultimately ruin your life. The key to remember here is this, the Devil operates only by our consent and cooperation. We need to take back that permission we never intended to give to the Devil.

Stand firm in the Lord where the victory has already been achieved in your life, that place is the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:37-39 says- we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,  nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Have a blessed week, keep your eyes on Jesus, He and His Father still rule and rein!

Note: much of this devotion came from Dr. Tony Evans message on spiritual warfare.

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He. I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4
My focus in response to God’s love for me should be “what am I thankful for today”? What I am thankful for today- My wife, kids, grand-kids, my home, food on our family table, good health, our church, good friends, family, personal salvation, and most of all- Jesus Christ in my life. So many blessings, so much to be thankful for. The enemy would like us to be worried, to be fearful, to be in distress, worrying over one thing or another.
One of the most important facts of my existence is to remember this- God is always with me, He is always taking care of me. Don’t worry about tomorrow. God wants me to live this day abundantly, seeing all there is to see, doing all there is to do, not distracted with future concerns or events, leave them all to the Lord. Live within the confines of today, do not worry about tomorrow, or be distressed about past regrets. GOD IS COMMITTED TO TAKING CARE OF ME, AND HE IS CAPABLE OF DOING THAT.
My prayer today- Father what do you want me to do today? Please align my life with Your plans and Your purposes for my life. Help me Lord to keep my eyes on you one day at a time, not only for direction Lord, but to be filled with your Holy Spirit and empowered for the day ahead.
Praying for you guys, that God would richly bless you this day, this time, and this season in your life. Be filled with His Spirit brothers.
Please let me know if you need anything at all, If you need prayer- how I can pray for you (send me an email).
