My Lord and my God.

The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”  (John 20:25)

Thomas who would later carry the message of the resurrection of Jesus to India, said . . .” And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God”.  (John 20:28)

After being with Jesus for three years he could not bring himself to recognize that standing before him was this very same Jesus he saw and knew before. Even today people say much the same thing. Show us, as if God did not do enough.

Thomas was not a go along to get along person, and Thomas said, My Lord and MY God! That statement refutes many cults who deny that Jesus is God. The bodily resurrection is his- story (History) and today’s good news.  He is risen indeed!
