‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’
I find it very comforting that God speaks to us. He speaks to us through His word, He speaks to us through prayer, He speaks to us as we meet corporately as a church. But what I find comforting as well is that God always meets us right were we are at. God spoke to Jeremiah here in verse 3 chapter 33 in a prison, in the mist of a horrible circumstance. Jeremiah was in prison because he was being obedient to what God wanted him to do not because he was in the wrong or did something to deserve it. I am sure this was a difficult situation for Jeremiah on so many levels. But I am personally encouraged by this verse because so often I find my self in prisoned per say in many situations that life throws at myself. And when I call to God and seek Him with my whole heart He is found, and He answers in due time and I am ok with however He handles things. And the great and mighty things that He pulls off in our lives are just so incredible when you truly look back at things, and like God told Jeremiah “I am going to show you great and mighty things which you don’t know.” I love that because the reality is if He showed us what He was going to do we wouldn’t belief it anyway. Let us trust God more often, let us walk by faith and not by sight. His plans for us are good and not evil.
